Jeanne —

Right now, in the runup to the Glasgow climate talks, scores of people have shut down 4th Ave. and disrupted two banks in downtown Seattle — Chase, the world’s largest funder of fossil fuel projects, and Bank of America, the fourth largest. Both of them are major funders of the Line 3 pipeline. Other people made a visit to the Canadian Consulate; Canada bought the TransMountain (TMX) pipeline in 2018, even though scientists have made it clear the country can’t meet its climate goals if it expands tar sands development. Against deep Indigenous resistance, they continue to build.

Please amplify the actions on TwitterFacebook, and Instagram, so they really feel the heat (they must have missed it, back at our crazy June heatwave). If you post yourself, use hashtags #DeadlineGlasgow and/or #DefundClimateChaos.

Earlier today in New York, dozens of people disrupted business at the headquarters of Chase, Bank of America, and Citibank.

The Seattle actions emerged from our Agents of Change Direct Action Training Series — 3 webinars, followed by an in-person Action Lab outside last weekend. Want to be on the list for future trainings like this? Sign our Pledge of Resistance!

You can also email Wall Street leaders to demand that they stop funding climate chaos. Our local Stop the Money Pipeline team will also be planning more actions soon, so as always, keep an eye here for ways to get involved.

If we stop the flow of money, we can stop the flow of oil.

Watch for our video of the action, coming Monday!

In solidarity,
Val for the Pledge of Resistance team
