“We have to act quickly. What we do in the next 3-4 years, I believe, will determine the future of humanity” Sir David King Chief scientific advisor to the UK Government

We have to act quickly.

Seen through the Good Samaritan parable (Luke 10:25-37), in our times now, the ‘traveler’ stripped, robbed, beaten, and left for dead is our children and all life on earth.

In 2021 we all have an unavoidable choice to make.

Will we be like the Priest and the Levite who avoid the tragic plight of the ‘traveler,’ passing by in denial, rejection, or disdain for the truth? Or will we be the Good Samaritan who comes to the rescue and protection of the next generations and the billions of people who stand to die in the coming decades.

This is the situation we face in 2021.

Faithful to the Biblical mandate of Creation Care for the Earth and all life on it (including ourselves), will we obey Jesus’ Greatest Commandment (Matthew 22:36-40) and Great Commission (Matthew 28:16-20)? Or will we continue to turn a blind eye and pass it all by as if it isn’t real, isn’t true, isn’t happening, doesn’t matter?

“We have for once learned to see the great events of world history from below, from the perspective of the outcasts, the suspects, the maltreated — in short, from the perspective of those who suffer. Mere waiting and looking on is not Christian behavior. Christians are called to compassion and to action.”
– Dietrich Bonhoeffer (Letters from Prison)
