Take one minute to help the Washington STRONG Act become law. No images? Click here ![]() If there’s anything this pandemic has made clear, it’s that the challenges Washingtonians face every day are deeply interconnected. Economic and job security, climate change threatening the natural systems we rely on, and the disproportionate burden of these impacts on communities of color and lower-income families — we have to address them in concert. Lend your voice to support the Washington STRONG Act (SB 5373 / HB 1513) in the state legislature today. It will generate billions of dollars for climate-conscious infrastructure investments, creating thousands of family-wage jobs in our hardest hit communities. Our legislators, even those who support Washington STRONG, need their constituents to show support for the bill this week to move forward. The transition to a clean energy economy is as simple as asking Washington’s skilled workers to do the same jobs they’ve been doing all along, just with new and better materials. Let’s equip them with the tools they need to build a brighter future. Building climate change-ready towns will require everything from more energy-efficient hospitals to better disaster relief systems. Washington STRONG creates fiscally responsible “green” recovery bonds that allow our state to immediately invest in infrastructure our communities desperately need to prepare for the climate crisis — without adding to the state deficit.
