7,051: Total legislator contacts made by the Civic Action Team in 2021!
55: Days left in the legislative session!
Thanks to all who answered our pop-question two weeks ago about NTIB. The majority of you answered correctly: NTIB means “necessary to implement budget,” a status that should apply to WA Strong, the new carbon pricing bill being heard this week. You all are becoming so policy savvy, so nice work!
Many bills are moving to their respective chamber floors for a floor vote, so it’s time to make contact with your own elected leaders. In this email, we’re going to ask legislators to vote YES on four House bills and three Senate bills. We’re also going to show our support for WA Strong.
We won’t know the full list of bills moving forward until after March 9, but for now we know three bills that we’ve been advocating for, have died:
Healthy Homes, Clean Buildings, HB 1084
Buy Clean, Buy Fair, HB 1103
Concerning Community, Solar HB 1046
We acknowledge it’s frustrating when bold climate bills do not move forward. We also know it can take years for a policy to pass so we must persevere!
