Send a Message to Your Legislators to Pass the Hold Big Oil Accountable Bill!

As a member of Third Act, you probably already know, oil companies have lied for decades about the climate impacts of burning fossil fuels. Equally egregiously, many of them have continued to oppose and try to weaken climate action. They block progress while making historic profits ($200 Billion alone in 2022) and we pay the devastating health impacts of pollution, wildfires, and loss of life and property from heat waves and floods. All the while there is no insight into what is behind the cost at the pump.
With support from Third Actors like you, our leaders can pass this bill (SB 6052, HB2232) to require oil companies to be more transparent about their profits and prices with penalties for any misbehavior and for deceptive greenwashing. Washingtonians should not be harmed by potential price gouging as we transition to a clean economy.
It is time to hold the oil industry accountable for deceptive environmental marketing and gouging us while polluting our land and water.
We need our legislators to stand up for everyday people like you and me. Contact your state legislator today because this year’s short legislative session ends on March 9 and the committee and floor votes are coming soon.
