Dear Jeanne —
We have a huge opportunity.
This year, the Department of Ecology is making a new rule on how fossil fuel projects will be evaluated. This is our opportunity to get ahead of industry and stop polluting facilities before they get started. It’s time to change the rules of the game.

Industry and regulators have ignored that health and climate impacts are directly connected. This is our chance to demand that environmental justice have a place in Washington’s permit process. It’ll take support from all over the state, and we’re counting on you to add your voice!
Add your support for the new rules to acknowledge and uphold treaty rights, include community health assessments, safeguard communities from inadequate assessments, include cumulative impacts and lifecycle emissions, and ensure that best available science is used.
Take action to protect Washington communities!
- Personalize a written comment to the Department of Ecology.
- Attend an informational event on March 23rd, New Rules: Centering Frontline Communities, from 6:30-8pm. Register here, shareable FB event here!

If we want the strongest rules possible, we’ll need support from all over the state.
Please take a stand for justice, healthy communities, and a liveable planet!
