In the midst of a pandemic and an historic moment in the fight for Black lives, PSE continues to push a dangerous fracked gas facility in Tacoma, threatening brown and black bodies first and worst. The Puyallup Tribe is steadfast in opposition to the facility — and we continue to stand with them.

PSE is promoting an outrageous campaign to greenwash fracked gas, targeting children with coloring pages for a “gas town” and a racist mascot called Don Fuego. These tactics echo the tobacco industry’s unconscionable efforts to hook a new generation and spread misinformation about the true impacts of their dangerous products.

Meanwhile, many of our neighbors face piling utility bills and mounting debts, and they could face dangerous shut-offs. PSE has a terrible track record for keeping people connected to affordable power — the company treats lower-income customers as expendable.

Tweet at PSE TODAY: Stop pushing dirty fracked gas and sacrificing people and communities.

Fracked gas endangers our health. And to meet our climate goals, we must phase it out — from our homes, schools, businesses, and power generation. We need relief from utility bills and climate chaos, not coloring pages and misinformation.

By pushing new fossil fuel facilities and spreading misinformation, PSE is slowing our clean energy transition and putting its profits above our health.  We cannot let them get away with this.

Will you join us today to hold PSE accountable?

Here is a social media action guide you can use to craft your tweets and posts, including some coloring pages of our own that show the true realities of fracked “natural” gas. Just be sure to tag Puget Sound Energy in anything you post!
