Join us for a special online event this Sunday Jeanne, Right now, Indigenous Land Defenders from the Wet’suwet’en Nation in northern B.C. are calling for international solidarity as they continue their heroic resistance to the massive Coastal GasLink fracked gas pipeline crossing their traditional and unceded territory. Join us this Sunday, April 5th at 2:00 PM (PST) for a webinar and fundraiser to support the Wet’suwet’en Land Defenders and to listen to firsthand accounts from frontline organizers about what the Wet’suwet’en are currently facing amidst the COVID-19 pandemic. We are honored to be joined by Rose Henry, a member of the Tla’amin Nation in B.C., and an Elder who supported the Indigenous Youth Land Defenders occupying the B.C. Parliament building, by Kanahus Manuel, co-founder of the Tiny House Warriors, and Kolin Sutherland-Wilson, a youth leader in the Wet’suwet’en Nation. Join the webinar this Sunday at 2:00pm PST by using this link: https://zoom.us/j/994848241. RSVP and share the event on Facebook here! This event is co-hosted by Oregon Water Protectors, Generational Resistance, Center for Sustainable Economy, and the Power Past Fracked Gas Coalition. We are alarmed to hear that despite this pandemic, Coastal GasLink “mancamp” workers are entering Wet’suwet’en territory to begin work on the pipeline. The danger of bringing COVID-19 to the Wet’suwet’en is unacceptable. These “mancamp” workers are also buying up all the supplies in this remote region, adding more difficulties for the Wet’suwet’en. Learn from land defenders about what’s happening now and how you can help. Speakers will share how you can provide donations to critical support efforts, including the Unist’ot’en Legal Defense Fund, Tiny House Warriors, and the Wet’suwet’en Resistance Garden. Please spread the word and join us this Sunday! Thank you,
Sarah Cornett Power Past Fracked Gas P.S. A special thank you to Toma Deavers and Elijah Cetas who are working hard to pull this event together in the midst of a difficult pandemic crisis. Thank you, Toma and Elijah!
