Hey everyone, I’m planning and facilitating this remote direct action training with more folks from Rising Tide Chicago. We’ll be focused on direct action you can take from your city or town in support of Indigenous Water Protectors fighting Line 3. Direct Action Training to Support Line 3 Resistance
Sat. Jan. 23rd, 5- 7:30 p.m.

Join Rising Tide Chicago for an online direct action training on Sat. Jan. 23rd. @ 5 p.m.

The goal of this training is to introduce people to direct action, learn about direct actions that have happened in the past, and go through planning and preparing for direct action.

We will focus on how you can support efforts to stop Line 3 by engaging in direct action and creative protest in Chicago.

We will include some information about traveling up north with an infinity group to participate on the frontlines and/or supporting by sending money.

Efforts to stop Line 3 in so called northern MN are heating up with construction beginning. In response, protest, prayer and direct action have been happening at/near construction sites. Indigenous organizers on Mdewakanton, Anishinabewaki ᐊᓂᔑᓈᐯᐗᑭ, Očhéthi Šakówiŋ, and Sisseton lands have issued a clear call for us to show up to help stop the construction of Line 3.

Line 3, as planned, will cross 15 watersheds and 215 lakes to carry dirty tar sands oil from Canada to the U.S., including the BP Refinery in Whiting, IN which pollutes Lake Michigan. Our drinking water in Chicago comes from Lake Michigan.
