Hey friends, Thank you so much for your continued support in stopping Puget Sound Energy’s fracked gas facility in Tacoma, on the ancestral tideflats of the Puyallup Tribe. As you may know, the fight has continued both in the courtroom and in the court of public opinion this year.

On April 27th, two weeks of court cases wrapped up in front of the Pollution Control Hearings’ Board. Now, we are waiting for a decision, likely in July, to see if the Puyallup Tribe and EarthJustice will prevail in the appeal of the air permit. Check out this recap!

Between now and then, we need to keep up the momentum and visibility! So, we’re bringing back #FrackOffFriday which were a huge success in 2020. We need YOUR help to spread the word and hold PSE accountable publicly for the harm they cause.

On May 21st, we want to share out this video about a recent twilight prayer vigil by Water Warriors outside the home of PSE CEO Mary Kipp. Please check out our social media guide and the alert language below.

Can you help spread the word on May 21st, about #FrackOffFriday? We need you and your community to elevate the message: #StandWithPuyallup and #FrackOffPSE.

Please let me know and feel free to ping me on any questions!

There is an email alert below if you are able to send it, or a customized version, to your contacts this Friday.

Puget Sound Energy (PSE) continues to push a dangerous, polluting, fracked gas facility in Tacoma. It is sited on the ancestral tideflats of the Puyallup Tribe, it endangers community health and safety, and it will worsen the climate crisis with decades of continued fossil fuel use. The Puyallup Tribe is steadfast in their opposition to the facility and our community continues to stand with them.

Join us for #FrackOffFriday to amplify #StandWithPuyallup and #FrackOffPSE.

PSE built the facility before it had all it’s permits, ignoring stop work requests, and to this day have never appropriately consulted with the Puyallup Tribe. So Water Warriors recently took action and called out PSE CEO Mary Kipp on environmental racism.

Check out this video and share it on social media.

Right now, PSE is seeking to turn on the facility, even though the Puyallup Tribe and EarthJustice are awaiting a decision on a legal challenge which could invalidate the facility’s air permit. Turning on the facility now would perpetuate the environmental injustice that has gotten the project this far.

We cannot allow them to continue to get away with sacrificing people and communities for profit.

Will you join us today to hold PSE accountable?

Here is a social media action guide with links to posts on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram to amplify. Or talking points to craft your posts–just be sure to tag Puget Sound Energy and to use the hashtags #StandWithPuyallup and #FrackOffPSE in anything you post. Not on social? Write a letter instead.

In solidarity,
