Hey folks,

I hope this email finds you all as well as possible right now, and you’re weathering the madness of the pandemic and lockdown okay.

About a month ago, I emailed you to announce a digital Earth Day mobilization that we were kicking off. We’ve been busy at work building a brand and website, forming coalition partnerships and creating all the resources you and anyone on the internet needs to get involved.

We’re calling it Earth Day Live: a three-day livestream mobilization that’ll feature activists, musical acts, celebrities, cooking shows, dance parties, and much, much more. It’s less than 10 days away and we just launched the updated website!

We need your (outreach) help

We’ve got some big names, but a kick ass line up isn’t enough — we need a huge outreach/promotion campaign to let every corner of the internet know about Earth Day Live.

Can you join us and reach out to your network for any websites, influencers, celebrities, and more to join in? No worries at all if you can’t – I know many of us are swamped – but we thought we’d put the call out just in case.

Steps to take to get you started:

1. Jump back into the Digital Climate Strike slack! We’ve re-purposed it and added a tonne of new faces who are working with us this time around. Head over to #outreach to get involved.
2. Share our Get Involved page. It contains a new website widget sites can add, banner ads and social media resources.
3. Send an email about Earth Day Live to everyone you know. We have a sample email for you to use here, and we have a master outreach sheet here to help us track progress.
4. We have a daily outreach stand up at 1:30pm EDT each day.
   • Hit reply to this email if you want to be invited. Or reply if you have any other ideas to make this huge!

I don’t know what your situation is, but I know many of us are feeling alone. COVID-19 is hard, but Earth Day Live could shine a beacon of hope in the world when we need it.

Daily update emails

Last September during the Digital Climate Strike, I sent daily update emails on the campaign progress – and we’re going to do the same starting tomorrow. I promise they will be much shorter than this.
