STMP friends and partners!

Mark your calendars: on our next STMP Coalition Call, we’ll be doing a deep dive into
private equity and the climate crisis.

What: STMP Coalition – Deep Dive into Private Equity and the Climate Crisis
When: Thursday, May 18th, 9PT/10MT/11CT/12ET.
Where: Zoom 👉👉👉 👈👈👈
In recent years, as private equity has been buying up billions of dollars worth of fossil fuel companies, it’s become clear: if we’re to truly stop the money pipeline to climate chaos, we need to be taking a very close look at private equity. We’ll be joined on the call by a host of experts who will help chart out what private equity is, what role it plays in the climate crisis, and what we can do about it.

Speakers include:
  • Alex Hurley, Project Manager, Private Equity Tracker and Global Coal Project Finance Tracker, Global Energy Monito
  • Shravya Jain-Conti, Director, Media and International Strategy, Climate Nexus
  • Amanda Mendoza, Research & Campaign Coordinator, Private Equity Stakeholder Project
  • Alyssa Moore, Researcher, Global Energy Monitor
  • Anne Perrault, Finance Policy Counsel, Climate Program, Public Citizen
  • Oscar Valdés Viera, Research Manager, Americans for Financial Reform Education Fund
  • Clara Vondrich, Senior Policy Counsel, Climate Program, Public Citizen
We hope you can make it! ✊❤
– Alec

PS: for a teaser of what we’ll be diving into, check out the new report into the Carlyle Group and this Guardian article outlining why this is so important for the climate movement to be paying attention to private equity.
