Greetings Fellow Climate And Civic Engagement Activists.

As you know, the recently completed Washington Climate Assembly put forth more than 100 recommendations for mitigation policy and legislative action.  These recommendations were supported by at least 80% of the bipartisan and demographically representative gathering of Washington residents. The recommendations consist of proposals for:
  • Renewable Energy Transitions
  • Buildings
  • Circular Economy and Zero Waste
  • Carbon Mitigation
  • Forest and Soil Health
  • Reducing Travel Carbon Footprint
  • Centering Communities
  • Education and Behavior Change
  • Health
Several of the specific recommendations closely parallel proposals put forward by members of this community.
Over 60 legislators signed up to attend a presentation of the recommendations, and many have expressed interest in further engagement.  Over the next few months, People’s Voice on Climate will be meeting with them to leverage this declaration of community support toward future policy and legislation.  We would like to hear from you which specific proposals you find most important and most enactable.  We would also be thrilled to work with you around recommendations which align with your specific priorities.
Thank you for your interest and support.  We look forward to hearing from you.
