8,610: Total legislator contacts made by the Civic Action Team in 2021!
46: Days left in the legislative session!
With yesterday’s chamber of origin cutoff we are now starting the second half of the session. From here on, expect to see House bills in Senate committees and vice versa!
As we read through your comments each week, we’re glad to see how savvy you are with the legislative process. Nice job!
You may already know that sessions are grouped together to make a biennium and just because a bill doesn’t move forward this session, we won’t give up. Here’s part of the definition of Carryover, from the legislative website:
“Just because a bill did not make it all the way through during the regular session in the odd-numbered year does not mean it is “dead.” At the end of the session, all bills in the second house are returned to the first house; so a House bill in committee in the Senate when session ends is returned to the House.”
