In an outrageous display of colonial arrogance Justice Marguerite Church has ruled that TransCanada/ Coastal GasLinkcan start site work preparation for its fracked gas pipeline on Unist’ot’en/ Wet’suwet’en territory as early as this Monday (Dec. 17).
Church also ruled today (Friday) that the checkpoint gate on the Wedzin Kwah (Morice River) Bridge must come down within 72 hours. That will be 3:30 pm Dec. 17.
This interim injunction against the Unist’ot’enwill remain in force until a judgement is rendered on a interlocutary injunction (a further interim measure); a date for that hearing is to take place no later than May 1, 2019.
