Earth Day EcoChallenge
Last year, we decided against offering the NCW EcoChallenge in 2020 due it’s high cost and because we didn’t reach our participation goals for the event. We know it is a loved event, but we wanted to focus our efforts on the Earth Day Fair since it is the 50th anniversary of Earth Day this year. Ironic, because now, of course, would be the perfect time for an all-online, virtual EcoChallenge! Unfortunately it is too late for us to fundraise and plan our own event. The bright side is that the Northwest Earth Institute who we have purchased our EcoChallenge from, is putting on an Earth Day-themed challenge from April 1-22.
No, it’s not custom tailored to the Wenatchee area and no, there’s not awesome prizes like we’ve had in years past. But it’s a great way to take your mind off of COVID-19 and focus on how we can all work together to reduce our negative impact on our local and global ecosystems. We’ve made a Sustainable Wenatchee team called the NCW Sustainable Community. So this year, instead of competing against each other, we can work together as a community. If you participated in the NCW EcoChallenge in years past, just use your old login info. We hope you’ll join us.
