Today – on Earth Day 2021 – world leaders are meeting for a global climate summit. Last night we heard from the grassroots climate justice warriors who these world leaders should be listening to. They shared a vision where we achieve climate justice, racial justice and economic justice. They proposed solutions that will protect our people and our planet. You can find last night’s call on our Facebook, Twitter, or YouTube Page and a copy of the slides on our website – then pick one of the many ways to take action.

Join the Fight for our Planet:

• Support the THRIVE Act to protect the environment and transform our economy. The THRIVE Act is an infrastructure package which will put 15 million people to work in good, union, family-sustaining jobs, deliver real climate solutions, and advance racial, Indigenous, gender, and economic justice. Call your members of Congress TODAY and demand they support the Thrive Act.

Support Indigenous and Environmental Justice Organizations: The speakers on our call last night represent the Frontline of the battle for our people and our planet.

• Indigenous Environmental Network has systematically built the capacity of indigenous communities and tribal governments to demand protection for the environment, their health, and all life forms. Through their Sky Protector campaign they have celebrated significant wins against cap and trade carbon market programs in California. • Grassroots Global Justice Alliance is an alliance of more than 60 member organizations building a popular movement for peace, democracy and a sustainable world.
• Asian Pacific Environmental Network fights for environmental justice by pushing for fundamental changes to economic and social institutions that will prioritize public good and a higher quality of life, over profits.
• We the People of Detroit are doing tremendous work to make access to clean, safe, affordable drinking water for all a reality. Sign their water pledge here.
• The Red Black & Green New Deal is a new initiative that puts Black liberation at the center of the climate fight. It will engage Black communities, align climate justice allies, and organize to build national Black involvement in the global struggle for climate solutions.
