Last November, voters rejected the previous administration’s horrifying and racist scapegoating of immigrants. But more than 26,000 people have been deported since Biden’s inauguration, including thousands of Black immigrants to countries including Cameroon, Haiti and Jamaica. This week, the Biden administration opened its first migrant detention center for children; we must act.
We need real, transformative change that acknowledges the dignity and humanity of all people. From reuniting families and defunding ICE and CBP, to building a new path to citizenship, this is the time to get big things done!
Our next mass call, “Protect Immigrants & Stop Deportations Now,” will be hosted by Greisa Martinez of United We Dream. Maurice Mitchell from the Working Families Party, Patrice Lawrence from UndocuBlack Network, and Christine Park from NAKASEC will also be joining this important conversation.
We have a powerful agenda, including:
A history of Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the impact of immigration enforcement on our communities, and our vision of a world without detention or deportation.
Updates, analysis and calls to action to stop deportations and immigrant justice legislation.
A conversation amongst movement leaders including their own immigration stories, making sense of the moment, and how we can move forward together.
