Welcome to February, CATs! Read below for an update on what our fearless felines have been up to since last week.

Team Updates

Comms:

  • We are celebrating Annika Weber (party emoji) who just got a great new job offer and is stepping back from CAT temporarily to transition into her new role. Huge kudos for all her work in CAT this year!

  • We are also still working to build policy area content for the website and we are looking to collaborate with bill trackers!

  • And now we’re recruiting new TikTok readers and editors to onboard! Duties include:

    • Hosting/reading

      • You will film yourself reading a pre-written script

      • Should take less than 30 minutes on Fridays

      • You do not have to say your name or be identified if you do not want to!

    • Editing

      • No editing experience is needed! It’s pretty fun and easy to learn, and you can do it from your phone in the TikTok app.

      • Takes Ryan about 1-2 hours on Saturdays

Data/ops:

  • The team is working hard to address real time feedback and ensure all our CAT action takers have a great tech experience!

  • Having trouble with the click-to-email link? Clicking this link is supposed to create a new email in your default email app, including the email addresses, the subject, and the email body. We’d love to help you resolve this issue if possible –or at least better understand it. If we can resolve it, it will take about 15 minutes or less.

Action Email:

  • We are starting to engage with real-time action taker feedback! There is a lot in there and we are hoping to implement some changes to the way we communicate urgency about bills and our positions on bills.

  • We are gathering up the Action Email Team members for a mid-session huddle to connect on Feb 20th from 4:30-5:30pm on Zoom!

  • We are working to make clear connections between climate and justice in each of our actions, so that we continue to build trust with our action takers!

Bill tracking:

  • Bill trackers are keeping busy as we near the halfway point of the session. Some bills are dead (sad emoji) and some are moving into the budget proviso category (happy emoji)!

Upcoming Event(s)

  • 💥💥💥Check out this document with a long list of town hall events coming up this month!💥💥💥

Resource Reminder!

  • Use our new peer coaching resource! ⚡⚡⚡⚡

    • This can be a busy and stressful time of the year, and it is possible that some folks could feel overwhelmed or needing some additional support.

    • We have folks who are trained and ready to help you walk through some of these challenges you might be experiencing.

    • Use this sheet to Find a Coach and schedule a time to meet with them.

Community CAT Spotlight

  • Meet Mewzer – the handsome new cat in Grace’s life! Mewzer is an activist and he loves snacks and unexpectedly getting on camera on Zoom while walking on the keyboard.

  • Keep sending me your cats! claire@350seattle.org

Have a great week everyone!
