 New Rules for Fossil Fuels For years, our partners across the Northwest have stood up to fossil fuel projects in our backyard. Now, we have a BIG opportunity to get ahead of industry by making sure fossil fuel projects are fairly put under the microscope. Join us to learn more about this opportunity! The Department of Ecology is working on a new rule to determine how fossil fuel projects will be evaluated. Coal, oil, and fracked gas wreak havoc on our climate, put our health and safety at risk, and harm on low-income communities of color. But together, we can take action to protect our communities and our environment! We want the Department of Ecology to prioritize the health and safety of communities over fossil fuel profits, utilize the best available science, and center the concerns of frontline communities. With stronger protections, Ecology and other state agencies will have a clearer picture of the human and climate impacts of these projects. This will create a precedent for striking down fossil fuel projects that pollute our communities. Now is our opportunity to get ahead of industry and to change the rules of the game.
