In the past two years, the Big 4 Wall Street banks—Bank of America, JP Morgan Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo—have provided $349 billion to fossil fuel companies, fueling the climate crisis.
Game of Thrones stars and real-life couple Kit Harrington and Rose Leslie bring this dirty little secret to light in the video below, developed by our partner Make Your Money Matter.
This Valentine’s Day, take action to get our planet out of this toxic relationship.
Most people still are not aware of how complicit big banks are in contributing to climate change. Bank of America is even going backwards, recently rescinding its policies , and Citibank has provided at least $8.7 billion to the global Liquefied Natural Gas sector since 2016––the same kinds of projects for which the Biden Administration just paused approvals.
The fossil fuel industry can not exist without banks. It’s past time to say enough is enough! You can move your money and build a relationship with a better, greener bank and credit card company that aligns with your values. Already moved onto a better bank? Forward to a friend who needs to hear this.
