Dear Kurt,
Last week Hurricane Ida made landfall in New Orleans and Southeast Louisiana, as a category 4 hurricane. Damage has been significant, but even more seriously, people in the city and surrounding parishes are STILL without power due to the negligence of the negligent, fossil fuel guzzling monopoly Entergy.
I am heading down to New Orleans with $1 Million of solar equipment and linking up with other local organizations and cultural institutions to begin distributing this solar tech around New Orleans and other hard-hit areas this weekend.
The Rolling Stones featured an article about our efforts here.
On our platform, CLIMATE REVOLUTION, I posted a full interview with Logan Burke, from the Alliance of Affordable Energy about the culpability of Entergy in the current crisis in New Orleans, and their exploitative history in New Orleans. Entergy had the opportunity to create more resilient solar and wind energy systems five years ago and refused, going as far as to sue the City Council and hiring actors to act as citizens and lobby for their plans to build a new fossil fuel plant instead.

This is the first in a series on Hurricane Ida, and begins our push to provide strategies and actions for climate resiliency in our own lives and communities.
