Saludos Jeanne,

Under the national We Are Home campaign, Mijente is organizing the Eyes on ICE: Truth and Accountability Forums, a series of community events held across the country to put a spotlight on the failures and abuses of DHS and ICE, with testimonies shared directly from individuals who have experienced separation, detention, and/or deportation.

This Sunday March 7th, our partner organization La Resistencia will be hosting their a People’s Tribunal outside of the Northwest Detention Center in Tacoma, Washington. I invite you to join their action in-person to hear first hand accounts exposing the abuses and failures of ICE enforcement and deportation, and the organizing efforts that have influenced our demands for change.

Based on the lived experiences of impacted communities, we demand that the Biden administration immediately reduce deportations, stop the harms to immigrant communities, and hold Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) and Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) accountable to the harms caused by their practices and policies.

Sign up here to attend Eyes on ICE: The People’s Tribunal, or receive further details about joining the event virtually. As a note, the event will be following social distancing recommendations and all in-person attendees are expected to wear face masks. There will be a limited number of masks available for those who need them. If you’re experiencing symptoms like fever, cough, or shortness of breath, we ask that you stay home and join via the livestream.

As the Eyes on ICE: Truth and Accountability forums continue,we hope that you stand with us in supporting the powerful and critical organizing of local immigrants rights groups and our demands for justice on a national scale.

In solidarity,

Jacinta Gonzalez
