Events:
Monday – July 8 – Climate Conversations Celebration and Meeting:
* We will be meeting at Walla Walla Point Park – Shelter #2 (south part of the park) from 5:00- 8:00 PM
*We will have a short meeting featuring speakers from Link. They will present information on their upcoming vote.
* Bring snacks to share and something to drink.
Friday – July 12 – “Lights for Liberty” Vigil:
* Protest the inhumane treatment of children and adults on our border with Mexico
* The vigil will be held from 8:00-9:30 PM on the step of the Courthouse in Wenatchee (There will also be a vigil in Leavenworth)
*Bring signs, flashlights, candles or glow-sticks
*A variety of local individuals will speak
Information:
Coal Mine in Washington? In 2019? As some of you may already know, Pacific Coast Coal Company may be trying to re-open a coal mine in King County that has been dormant since 1999. Discharges from the mine have exceeded allowable limits, and nearby Lake Sawyer has suffered from chronic phosphorus pollution. PCCC has repeatedly failed to clean up the site.
