USING ARTS & MUSIC

TO EDUCATE, ORGANIZE AND TAKE DIRECT ACTION FOR CLIMATE JUSTICE

WHEN: Wednesday, January 15, 5-6 pm Pacific / 6-7 pm Mountain / 7-8 pm Central / 8-9 pm Eastern

WHO: This call is for local 350 group members, especially folks who do or are interested in arts and music. Please invite members of your group who are using arts and music–or might want to.

WHAT: We will share examples and resources for using arts and music to build your groups, win campaigns and have fun–and we will sing together. We also will ask for a brief report about how your group uses arts and music in your work.

CALL IN INFO: Please register here for the Zoom call (we’re starting fresh for 2020 so sign up even if you have joined monthly calls previously)

This will be the first in our monthly local group call series in 2020; we will not have a call on Jan. 8. After this call we’ll return to our regular schedule, with calls the second Wednesday of the month.

Featuring:

Alexandra Blakely (she will sing a song with us on this call!) with The People’s Echo: a Seattle, Washington based collective of social justice/climate activists and singer-songwriters. Created in the midst of a deep calling to fill our streets with music. GOAL: To create songs that can be sung by all, in moments in which we wish had a song to sing.

David Solnit; 350’s North American Arts Organizer will offer experience and resources:
