Sustainable Wenatchee: Reduce your Carbon Footprint
With our abundant clean electricity, what’s the best way to shrink your carbon footprint in NCW? Join Jana Fischback, Executive Director of Sustainable Wenatchee, as she covers ways to reduce your emissions by changing the way you get around. She’ll share green driving tips on how to reduce pollution from transportation, no matter what car you drive. Interested in commuting by bike, or just learning more about how to be a cautious driver around cyclists? She’ll share where to find resources on getting around by bike, guidelines for sharing the road, and what’s up with E-Bikes. For those interested in upgrading to a zero-emissions car, she’ll also offer some brief information on making the change to an electric or fuel cell vehicle.

I have no idea of the specifics of this event, but it sounds INTERESTING! Don’t miss Roger Hallam’s speech on Saturday, May 29, 11 AM-12:30 PM Pacific. Roger, the son of an English Methodist preacher and co-founder of Extinction Rebellion, will outline what needs to happen when Christians realize we can stand by no longer. As he says, “In the face of climate collapse, Christians are called to bear witness like never before in the history of our faith. Everything is at stake.” Contact: faith@xramerica.org

Since we will be losing part of the Horan Wildlife Area, come with ideas on how to mitigate that loss. (ie: more bike lanes, more electric car chargers, more non-public areas for wildlife)
CHALK THE WALK NEAR THE FOOD FAIR!
Join 350Wenatchee on June 4@ 4PM we will chalk the sidewalks around Chase Bank’s corner. This may seem old, but it is such a visible area especially with Apple Blossom festivities. Chalking our messages on the surrounding sidewalks could have an amazing impact. Music and chalk will be provided – We would love to have some aspiring artists join us!
