Hello Jeanne!
We’ve got a lot today, and a few of the bills (about “renewable natural gas” and about alternative jet fuel) are more nuanced than many of the climate and equity issues we deal with. We have tried to include enough explanation and have linked additional information if you want to learn more, and you can always click on the bill number to read the actual bill or the legislative staff report.
Even in a long legislative session like this, deadlines seem to come up fast. The first deadline is for policy bills to get out of committee by February 17th. The last item today asks you to send emails to push a couple of solar energy bills forward; both have had public hearings but they haven’t been scheduled for a vote in executive session in order to continue to move forward. (There are lots of ways for bills to die, and not making this cut-off is one of them.)
Some of the actions have early deadlines because of the committee schedules. If you get to this Monday morning, you can simply sign in on the first few bills, but in the 24 hours after the hearings, you will need to make a comment, which can be brief, in order for your voice to be heard. We attempt to put the bills with early deadlines at the beginning. You can always do those right away, click “Done”, then come back later and take other actions when you have a chance.
