Dear Friend,
Whether you’re working from home or staying inside when you can, we can all make a difference during the pandemic.
The continuing coronavirus public health crisis means we are encouraging everyone to comply with Washington state’s “Stay Home, Stay Healthy” order as much as they can. We’re already seeing that staying home unless absolutely necessary and employing distancing tactics while out in public has helped flatten the curve here in Washington and slow the spread of the coronavirus.1
There’s another very important thing you can do to help your community while staying at home: fill out the 2020 Census online!
The data collected in the 2020 Census impacts decisions that will be made over the next 10 years, including how funding will be allocated among the states and how many seats they will hold in Congress. An accurate census is vitally important to a healthy democracy and it only takes ten minutes. Please join us by filling out your 2020 Census today!

Participating in the census ensures you will be counted when the federal government decides how to allocate assistance among the states. With so much of the future uncertain, it is more important than ever to make sure you are included. Everyone participating means Washington will be able to receive the assistance we need.
It is also important to note that there is no question regarding citizenship on the 2020 Census. Repeated efforts by the Trump administration to insert such questions and depress turnout were thankfully thwarted. The Census Bureau wants every single person, regardless of citizenship status, to know they count!
While much of our focus right now is directed at the ongoing pandemic, the results of the 2020 census will resonate for decades. Please, take ten minutes and fill yours out today.
