350 Madison held a “Chase Out, Bake Out” a few days ago. Photos from the event should be coming through as attachments. Feel free to use them to spread the message.
This is what one of the participants posted to her facebook page.
“Fun fact: Chase Bank is the #1 funder of filthy, polluting tar sands fossil fuels/pipelines. 350 Madison Climate Action Team brought the Chase employees freshly baked muffins this morning but were denied access to the bank by two specifically hired Madison police officers. Who knew #ChaseFearsMuffins? They also fear the general public knowing their dirty fossil fuels funding secrets. Why do I personally spend my Saturdays hassling Chase Bank? Because I am a parent who feels morally responsible for choosing to bring two souls into this world–and words like “extinction” and “food shortages” and “record high carbon levels in our atmosphere” drive me to the streets. A growing body of the most educated scientific voices say it’s already too late….but I need to know for my own sanity and soul that I tried, that I took a stand, that I put myself on the line.
