Over 650,000 people tuned in yesterday to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Earth Day with us on Earth Day Live.

Today we’re diving into how money is fueling climate chaos and what we can do to stop it. Click here to tune in to the second day of Earth Day Live, hosted by the Stop the Money Pipeline Coalition.

Stopping the fossil fuel industry’s financial pipeline couldn’t be more important than it is right now. Earlier this week, oil prices were negative in some parts of the world — and the industry’s response has been to fight even harder for bailouts from the government.

This moment has laid bare the injustice of the current economic system, but it also gives us a chance to intervene and change course. Today’s programming is aimed at underlining just how important it is for us to act now and what we can do to be most effective.

Today is filled with amazing programming. Here are just a few of the highlights:

  • Chase, Climate Destruction & the Frontlines of Resistance with Bill McKibben, Freda Huson, Tara Houska and Joye Braun
  • Big banks, the Gwich’in Nation, and the fight to protect the Arctic Refuge with Lena Moffitt, Bernadette Demientieff and Councillor Cheryl Charlie
  • The release of the Youth vs. Apocalypse: No One Is Disposable Music Video
  • Stop The Money Pipeline Political Townhall with Rep. Rashida Tlaib, Sen. Jeff Merkley, Rep. Katie Porter and Sen. Ed Markey
  • Youth Climate Activism in the Global South: Allyship, Solidarity, and Movement Building with Jessy Musaazi, Ashangwa Harrison, Winny Puteri and Adegbule Wole
  • Indigenous Leaders On The Frontlines of Fossil Fuel Resistance with Samantha Arechiga, Makasa Looking Horse, Ta’kaiya Blaney and Jasilyn Charger
  • Musical performances by Talib Kweli, Ani DiFranco, Ziggy Marley and many more

We may not be able to come together in the streets to fight back against the fossil fuel industry but that doesn’t mean we can’t take powerful, collective action online. Join us right now on Earth Day Live.

See you online,
Stop the Money Pipeline
