Tell Dept. of Ecology: Reject fracked gas refinery!
Dear friend,
Last week, WPSR and our partners in the Power Past Fracked Gas coalition joined the indigenous-led Protectors of the Salish Sea at the Washington Department of Ecology offices to deliver thousands of comments from people across the state opposing the Kalama fracked-gas-to-methanol refinery and Tacoma LNG.
We continue to stand alongside Kalama residents and oppose this dirty fossil fuel project. Ecology has less than two weeks to approve or deny the Shorelines Permit that this project’s backers need to move forward. Together, we can help convince Ecology to reject this climate disaster that is dangerously close to being approved in our state.
Call the Dept. of Ecology and ask that they deny the Shorelines Permit for the Kalama methanol refinery: 360-407-6969

Support WPSR so we can continue the fight against dirty fossil fuels in our state!
Dr. Lisa Johnson and Dr. Rejean Idzerda joined our coalition partners earlier this year to deliver over 140,000 comments to Gov. Inslee opposing WA fracked gas projects.
WPSR has tenaciously opposed this proposed project for over three years. We’ve generated hundreds of comments, spoken at rallies across the state, and even wrote a 100+ page paper to clarify the risks posed by this refinery and other fracked gas facilities like it. And, just a few months ago, Governor Inslee heeded our calls and announced his opposition to the project, citing “the dwindling window for [climate] action and the significant methane leakage associated with gas production.”
Learn more about Ecology’s decision from our partner Columbia Riverkeeper’s website. Maximize your impact and forward this email to five friends! Together, we can encourage a clean, healthy energy future and protect our state from more fracked gas.
Thanks for all you do,
Sarah Cornett
