Personally - I loved this movie! This sounds like a great venue for discussion - but offers opportunity to watch it for free. Thank you WORC (Western Organization Resource Council - based in Wyoming).
We just confirmed our panelists for our virtual panel discussion of Kiss the Ground, a new documentary film that explains the importance of developing healthy soils and lifts up some examples of how we can build a better system of regenerative agriculture today. If you haven’t, registered for the upcoming virtual screening of Kiss the Ground and virtual panel discussion on Nov 30 at 7 pm – 8:30 pm mountain time, click the link below to do so.
Three agriculture and food special guests will join us for the discussion:
Karen Rodriguez is the Stewardship Operations Manager at Kiss the Ground. She is a Guatemalan woman raised in Venice Beach. Her love of the culinary arts led her on the journey to learn an incredible amount from chefs, farmers, and all of the people connected to our food. Following the thread of where our food comes from has made her passionate about teaching children and the adults who teach children about tending to our soil and our earth because that is where all food begins. She is excited about regeneration and supporting healthy humanity, through food education, regenerating soils, restoring systems and kissing the ground.
Josie Erskine operates Peaceful Belly Farm in Idaho, a 35-acre ecologically regenerative urban farm. Their certified organic vegetables support 160 CSA members, the Boise Farmers Market, the Boise Co-op, Idaho’s Bounty, and local restaurants. At its heart, Peaceful Belly is a small family farm and they believe in genetic diversity, both domestic and wild. They grow over 180 types of vegetables, fruits, herbs, flowers, and berries.
Don Smith is the Stewardship Program Advisor & Teacher at Kiss the Ground. He is a speaker, teacher, and student of regenerative agriculture and regenerative lifestyles. His talks are engaging, inspiring, and filled with viable solutions to the world’s largest problems. In addition to speaking, Don helps Kiss the Ground with editing, technical details, and infographics promoting soil as a solution to climate change.
