Add a herd of elephants … families of orangutans swinging through the treetops … tigers prowling the understory … and there is only one place in the world you could be: Indonesia’s Leuser Ecosystem.
Some of its most critical wildlife habitat is being destroyed to make Conflict Palm Oil for big corporations… corporations that actually know better, because they already promised they’d stop!
Undercover RAN field investigations have exposed an illegal palm oil plantation responsible for bulldozing the incredibly eco-rich Leuser Ecosystem.
We traced Conflict Palm Oil from this operation all the way through the supply chain and found that it’s being bought by massive brands we’re all familiar with… and used in hundreds of products, everything from soap to cereal to chocolate.
These big brands — Nestlé, Mondelēz, General Mills, Mars, Kellogg’s, Hershey’s, Unilever, and PepsiCo — are NOT following their own commitments to no deforestation and they still can’t guarantee deforestation-free palm oil in their products!
RAN shouldn’t have to prove this path of destruction. These corporations, making billions in profits, must make good on their promises to end deforestation.
Enough sitting idly by while life in the Leuser continues to be drained and destroyed.
