Hello CAT team!

We had 15 new CAT members who took action on Monday! Welcome, we’re glad you’re here.

The end of the day Thursday, is the “policy cut-off” — the last chance for bills without a fiscal element to move out of the relevant policy committee in their chamber of origin. And, end of day Monday is the deadline for bills to move out of the relevant fiscal committee!

We’re happy to tell you that the house and senate versions of the “Middle Housing” legislation are getting out of their respective policy committees; the senate bill moved on a 10-1 vote. We think this is excellent news!

For today’s action we have two new equity bills to show up for! The first is to protect Black lives by eliminating unnecessary traffic stops, which disproportionately affect Black individuals, and the second is to honor undocumented workers by including them in Washington’s unemployment system. We’re also including five bills that we’ve advocated for previously in this session, but need our help to move forward.
