There are 58 days left in the legislative session in Olympia. That means there are 58 number of days left for the Democratic majority to pass meaningful climate policy in 2019.

And although we at 350 Eastside aren’t working very closely on state climate policy ― we’re busy just trying to stop disastrous fossil fuel projects like the North Seattle Lateral Upgrade! ― our friends at 350 Seattle are. So far, in the first six weeks of the 2019 legislative session 350 Seattle’s Civic Action Team has recorded over 1,000 phone calls to state legislators.

This is important it is essential that all of us call our legislators regularly throughout the session to advocate for climate justices. Together, our voices are mighty.

To support climate activists having their voices heard this session, 350 Seattle’s Civic Action Team is doing two things:

  1. Sending a weekly email to the Civic Action Team!

These emails provide updates on what key climate bills are moving, and who the key players are to call and email. They provide you with legislator phone numbers, bill numbers and talking points in one concise weekly email. All you have to do is pick up the phone!

  2. Sends a weekly text alert!

350 Seattle can let you know by text whom to call and when. If required we will be able to share with you talking points and legislator phone numbers via text.

We know that many of our state legislators still don’t hear anywhere near enough from their constituents about climate change ― and that’s something we need to change! For this reason, we want to encourage you, 350 Eastside supporters, to sign up to join 350 Seattle’s Civic Action Team ― the bills they are fighting for impact all of us in Washington, and, together, our voices are far more powerful we can change that!

Please sign up to receive weekly Civic Action Team updates and help pass meaningful climate policy in 2019!

In solidarity,

350 Eastside – Phil, Lynn, Bonnie, Emily & Sara
