We’ve had a lot of spirited All-In calls at Third Act, but never one more powerful, positive, and needed than last night.
We are in a terrible place right now, but as we heard last night, we have ways to dig ourselves out—both defense and offense—that’s why we’re taking action on both fronts!
On the first score, we are partnering with Indivisible and other groups for a major national Hands Off Our Government mobilization on April 5. The momentum is building—sign up here. As for offense, we shared more about the plans for Sun Day in September—the biggest mobilization in support of solar power to date. Third Act Working Groups are already coming up with great ideas, and you can pitch in immediately just by drawing us a sun. (As we were talking last night Jane Fonda sent in hers, see below.) Hands Off!: On April 5th, Third Act and our partner Indivisible will be hosting a massive action to protest the Trump-Musk coup and Republican assault on our democracy and our communities. Hands Off! is an all-in moment for the pro-democracy movement—sign up today and join an event near you!
Resisting Trump: We launched the Legacy Project as a way for you to vocalize your opposition to this authoritarian regime. As elder Americans, we have seen our country go through a lot, but nothing quite like this. Write a letter to the editor of your local newspaper and let them know why these are unprecedented times and must be met with rigorous resistance.
Solar Implementation: Sign up for Energy Sage! Energy Sage has signed on to become our partner to help us enroll as many of you—and your friends and family—in solar power. They’re a respected organization in this field and will offer lots of support to ensure your installation goes smoothly. We as Third Actors work alongside one another to be the change we wish to see in the world. You are invited to join this new effort to take our power back, by building rooftop solar for your own home!
GOTV for WI Supreme Court: This is a critical, critical fight. We need to show that Elon or any other billionaire can buy an election. Elections are won by the people. Help phonebank with our partner Activate America to get folks to the polls and elect Susan Crawford to protect our democracy
We also have a stacked calendar of events that you can join, with lots of opportunities for you to level up your organizing skills and learn from other Third Actors.
During this stressful time, we absolutely want you to be involved in as many Third Act events as you can be, but also urge you to care for yourself and your community. Find time to disconnect, if that feels good. Spend time with loved ones, do local volunteering. Remember that this will be a long fight, and it will be a hard one, so don’t burn out.
