Are you ready to run with us? This week, hurricane season kicks off in the Gulf South. It also kicks up winds of climate justice and demands for #NoNewLeases.

We are howling at the Wolfpack to follow our Southern and frontline leadership.

On Saturday, June 4, residents from across the five Gulf South states and one colonized territory (FL, AL, MS, LA, TX, and P.R.) will gather in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, for Climate Justice and Joy, the first regional action of the Gulf South for a Green New Deal (GS4GNDL), a formation of more than 300 organizations across the region. This southern community festival will be equal parts strategy session, culture fest, and community-building.

We invite you to co-conspire in the following ways:

• Amplify the Gulf South Frontlines by utilizing the Wolfpack social media toolkit. What does the Gulf South mean to your region? Show us some love on social with a Tweet that highlights the connection between the Gulf South and the place YOU call home.
• Demand #NoNewLeases: The Biden Administration is considering a new five-year lease sale for offshore oil drilling in the Gulf and Alaska. Join us in our demand for no new drilling. This is the only way we can save the sacred waters and lands.
  • Sign our petition if your organization or members live in the Gulf South.
  • Sign the People vs. Fossil Fuels petition if you are outside the region.
