Our friends at Third Act can’t stay away – they’re back for more action, this time next Tuesday, August 27th during the last week of Summer of Heat.
You are all invited to join a day of disruption at Citi HQ. The theme is Climate Action for (Y)our Grandchildren. We’re taking action together for our grandchildren, your grandchildren, and all our loved ones and life on this planet. Citigroup is stealing our grandchildren’s future by bankrolling the coal, oil and gas companies that are polluting our communities and causing the overheating of the planet.
There will be two waves of action. Please join for one wave or both! The meet-up times are 7:30am and 12:15pm.
When you sign up for the action we are asking you to choose which wave of action you’ll join, as well as if you’re willing to join the nonviolent civil disobedience portion of the event.
We are asking everyone who joins us to bring a “I’m here for ________” sign, showing who or what you’re taking action for. If you can’t make one yourself, just send us a photo and words and we’ll make it for you (you’ll receive instructions after you RSVP for the action).
While this is a Third Act elders-led event, all ages are welcome and invited! I’m not quite 60 and am taking action for my niece and nephew on Tuesday, August 27th. May Citi end fossil fuel financing so they have a shot at a more stable planet as they grow older.
