Hi Jeanne,

We are closer than ever to un-damming the Lower Snake River to protect salmon and Southern Resident orcas from extinction. After decades of inaction, we have real momentum and cause for hope—this summer, Governor Inslee and Senator Murray will release a plan for replacing the services provided by the Snake River dams. And the White House recently announced that it is working with Columbia Basin Tribes to develop a “durable path forward” on this issue.

We have limited time and need to make sure that our elected officials understand the urgency and importance of this issue.

Between now and July 31, we need all hands on deck—and there will be plenty of ways to engage. Feeling inspired? Here are six ways to get started right now:
  1. Sign the petition: We need as many signatures as possible to demand action from our elected representatives. Sign today and share with your friends!
  2. Oregon business sign-on letter: Know any Oregon businesses that want to stop extinction? This letter will show elected officials that un-damming the Snake River to save salmon is a critical Oregon issue.
  3. Call your elected officials: Let them know why saving salmon and orcas matters to you.
  4. Check out upcoming events: There are many ways to get involved this spring and summer.
  5. Learn about the effort to remove the dams and save salmon.
  6. Donate to support our work.

Together, we can be part of the greatest salmon recovery effort in history. Use your voice to speak up to save salmon and all of the species who depend on them. We hope you will join us in the fight to stop extinction.

Thank you for speaking up to protect what you love!

P.S. Check out this op-ed my colleague, Liz Terhaar, wrote sharing her memory of Keiko the Killer Whaleand how it relates to Lower Snake Dam removal today.
