Hello climate organizing friends in the PNW,
Here’s a quick recap of our regional call this past Monday. I forgot to get a group picture! Hopefully I’ll remember next time. Thanks all for your engagement and investment in our regional community.
Here are our SLIDES
And key highlights:
- 350 Juneau and 350 Wenatchee shared highlights from their BBFF week of action events (you can see some photos in the slides)
- If you held a BBFF event, 350.org would love to have a quote from you for what BBFF means to you. You can drop your group’s quote at the end of this document!
- The conversation around forestry as a climate issue in WA has been growing and a several 350 and non-350 groups recently met to discuss organizing ideas around this. Email Grace to get connected.
- The 350 WA Civic Action Team (our WA legislative campaign) is wrapping up as a huge success and a learning experience, with over 14,089 actions taken collectively so far!
- The 350 WA Network is sponsored by 350 Seattle, and 350 WA Network groups are invited to help support the continuation of this work by making a donation to our fundraiser.
- The New Rules for Fossil Fuels campaign window of action has moved out a little into May, so expect to hear more soon about how your group can help support this campaign. For now, here’s the Zoom link for the May 19th conversation on how to provide public comment.
- Ingrid Archibald from Stand.Earth gave us a short announcement on the launch of the new SAFE Organizing Network for communities working to end fossil fuel expansion via local land use regulations. The Kick-Off is April 15th at 5:30 pm PST, on Zoom. On the call, they’ll highlight some exciting SAFE stories from the last year, the new network, and share our SAFE Organizing Toolkit.
Warmly,
Grace Hope, they/them
