Happy Monday Jeanne,
It’s the last week! Today, we’re continuing to push for some budget items and two housing bills. We’re also expressing our appreciation to the primary sponsors of a few key pieces of legislation that have passed both chambers.
Expect our last two emails of the session to feature thank yous to key legislators — especially to the sponsors of bills that we want to see come back next year.
Thank you so much for taking action with the Civic Action Team this session!
– Grace, Rosemary, and the whole CAT team
PPS Last Wednesday, we celebrated a whole bunch of bills that have passed both chambers. Here is a list of bills that we supported that that have been signed off by both chambers and are now heading to the Governor for signature:
HB 1329 – Preventing utility shutoffs for nonpayment during extreme heat
SB 5452 – Impact fee revenue to fund improvements to bicycle and pedestrian facilities
And here are more bills we supported that have passed both chambers and are either waiting for concurrence (having the second chamber’s changes accepted in the original chamber), or for leadership signatures following concurrence — so fingers crossed that they all survive those steps!
HB 1033 – Evaluating compostable product usage in Washington
