One month out!

 

It’s amazing watching plans come together for 32123: people are registering new actions every day, and with 45 national partners, the plans are getting ever more powerful. Jane Fonda is joining in, and so is the current head of the Sierra Club. Amazing art is pouring in from every corner of the continent, and music too (check out this Santana remake).

 

Now is the moment to pour it on. It’s time to be recruiting every participant you can (remember–you don’t need to have cut up your credit card or canceled your account in order to protest these banks). It’s time to be letting the media know what you’ve got planned (and to think of things that will entice them: DC’s plan for a sit-in with rocking chairs seems to be spreading widely!). We will continue to support all the actions with lots of resources, including media and PR templates.

 

March 21 won’t be our last chance–in fact, it will be the springboard to a campaign that brings big institutions like pension funds, businesses, cities, and universities on board in this fight. But it is our best chance yet to make the connection in people’s minds between cash and carbon. I’m giving it all I’ve got these last four weeks and I know you are too–it’s hard work, but it should be fun work. We’re aiming high and hitting hard, and that’s all anyone can ask!

NVDA Training Session #2

March 2 at 6 pm EST / 3 pm PST

This second session of a 2-part nonviolent direct action (NVDA) training will focus on the specifics of preparation for action – agreements, what to bring, general logistics, support roles, preparation for all roles, general legal questions, how to incorporate media, and much more. These sessions will be recorded and will be useful for beginners and experts alike. If you missed session #1, don’t worry, we will send you a recording when you register for Session #2.
