Jeanne,

Front and Centered will launch our 2025 Legislative Agenda soon—can you join us so we can walk through it together?

You’re invited to attend our legislative briefing on January 7th at 12pm. Join us during the lunch hour to learn more about our priority legislation, including the Cumulative Risk Burden (CURB) Pollution Act which aims to protect communities from harmful facilities, and our Right to Energy campaign, which seeks to ensure energy assistance for low-income residents in Washington State.

This legislative session in Olympia is pivotal, as lawmakers will be addressing issues that directly impact environmental justice, public health, and economic equity. The incoming presidential administration poses challenges to our values and policy priorities. At the federal level, changes in energy policies and climate resilience strategies could significantly impact local actions, underscoring the urgency of our work. Amid these challenges, our agenda and advocacy this legislative session will focus on holding the legislature accountable to its commitments to climate justice, environmental justice, and the well-being of frontline communities.

Front and Centered staff, alongside community members, will share insights during a brief presentation, followed by a questions and answer session with you and other participants.

[[FIRSTNAME or “Friend”]], can you come to our free virtual briefing in January and get ready for the legislative session with us? This is an especially important time for frontline communities, and we want to share more about our 2025 priorities and how we can mobilize and advance the solutions we know we need!

WHAT: Front and Centered 2025 Legislative Session Briefing

WHEN: Tuesday, Jan. 7, 12:00 to 1:00pm

WHERE: On Zoom

SPEAKERS: Details will be shared closer to the date of the briefing

A Just Transition requires more than what currently existing policies and programs can provide for communities of color, Indigenous peoples, and others on the frontlines of the climate crisis. During the 2025 session, our statewide coalition is asking the legislature to put the focus back on frontline communities. We know that when frontline communities are engaged in creating solutions, we see better results.

In solidarity,

Guillermo Rogel, Jr. — Legislative and Government Relations Advocate
