By the end of this month, we expect the Washington Department of Ecology to make a decision on the shoreline permit for the world’s largest fracked gas-to-methanol refinery, proposed in Kalama, Washington. So many of you have weighed in with important comments about why this refinery should never be built. We are in the final push to make your voices heard!
Join us today for No Methanol Mondays! Speak up to Governor Inslee and key Washington agencies to let them know that this climate-wrecking project is not in line with a healthy, sustainable future.
It’s easy, quick, and makes a big difference. Here’s what you can do:
Step 1: Send an email to Washington leaders to reject permits for this project. Click here.
Step 2: Make a phone call to Governor Inslee’s office at 360-902-4111. Press 2 to leave a message. Leave a message telling him that you are counting on his administration to deny the Kalama methanol refinery, a project that would use more fracked gas than all of Washington’s power plants, combined. Washington would be worsening the climate crisis by building the world’s largest fracked gas-to-methanol refinery.
Step 3: Share this email with your friends and neighbors.
