Join us for a series of online virtual trainings on nonviolence and civil disobedience. Just before the holidays, we held our first training, which focused mostly on history—if you missed it you can view the recording here. But the past is a prelude to action, and this series is designed to equip you with the necessary skills and knowledge to take part in civil disobedience going forward.

For some of you, the utilization of these skills will begin in early-February in the nation’s capital, when we join frontline communities protesting outside the Department of Energy in an effort to stop the permitting of new liquefied natural gas export facilities—and to understand why it’s a big deal, read this.So those planning to attend the #STOPLNG Sit-In on February 6-8 in Washington D.C are especially invited to attend these training sessions on nonviolence and civil disobedience—some of us will be risking arrest during this large-scale civil disobedience action (as this is a part of permitted rally, you can peacefully attend in a non-arrestable role without any engagement with civil disobedience).

Of course, not everyone will be able to travel to D.C—but that’s okay, the climate crisis and the democracy crisis are everywhere, and eventually this training will come in handy! So please join us for these training sessions. And if you need some inspiration, or just a good kickstart to 2024, here are the SNCC Freedom Singers reminding us that “99 and a Half Won’t Do.”
