It’s been brought to my attention by some members we have a couple opportunities now. Both Douglas & Chelan County PUD’s are finalizing the updates to Clean Energy Transformation Act – and neither one mentions solar power, just more energy efficiencies – so if you want to speak up for solar in our area:
From Douglas County PUD site (under public hearing):
In accordance with RCW 19.405.060(2):
1) By January 1,2022, and every four years thereafter, each consumer-owned utility must develop and submit to the department a four-year Clean Energy Implementation Plan for the standards established under RCW 19.405.040(1) and 19.405.050(1).
2) The plan must consider renewable energy, energy efficiency and demand response. The draft Clean Energy Implementation Plan can be found by clicking here.
3) The Commission of PUD No. 1 of Douglas County set December 13, 2021 at 1:30 PM at the offices of the Commission at the Douglas County Public Utility District, 1151 Valley Mail Parkway, East Wenatchee, Washington as the date, time and place for a public hearing to accept input on the Clean Energy Implementation Plan.
Chelan County PUD was harder – and while there’s much more info on their Dec. 20th commission/public hearing – the following worked to make a comment via email:
