Costco leadership has yet to take any meaningful action to clean up Costco’s credit card relationship with dirty Citibank. It’s become overtly clear: Costco needs to choose between protecting communities and the planet or sticking with polluting Citi.
To get Costco leadership to act, we’re going to need to escalate our pressure. That’s why we’re experimenting with a new tactic: we’re going to send thousands of postcards to Costco.
If everyone who reads this email sends at least one postcard, Costco leadership will not be able to turn away from this issue any longer.
After you sign-up, we will send you the digital toolkit on Friday, June 14th. The toolkit will have everything you need: postcards to print, step-by-step instructions, and reimbursement information. All you have to do is print, write a personal message, address your card, grab some stamps, and stick them in the mail.
In order to get Costco leadership to take action, we need to send thousands of postcards. Therefore, to reach our goal, we will need to invite our friends, family, and fellow Costco members to send postcards too.
In the form, there’s also the option to host a postcard party. For the first 40 people who commit to hosting a Postcard Party or tabling event and sending 100 postcards (that’s inviting about 10 folks to write postcards with you), we’ll do the printing for you and send you a package of postcards and stamps to your doorstep. First come, first served. Sign-up to host a postcard party while supplies last!
We are becoming increasingly more aware: Costco’s credit card relationship is extremely important to Citibank. Citi’s branded cards business is number two in the US cards market.Citibank really, really wants to protect its relationship with Costco, a huge credit card client. If we can push Costco to act, Citibank will be forced to listen and stop funding fossil fuel expansion.
