How much water is in your burger?

A plant based diet will be starting Dec. 1st on the 350Wenatchee website!

Gallons of water:

2 slices bun bread – 22

3 slices of bacon – 108

1 slice cheese – 40

1 beef patty – 660

2 slices tomato – 1

1 leaf lettuce – <1/4

~830 gallons

Had to research this after watching “Eating our way to Extinction” now free on you-tube. Plant-based burgers:  Use 75-95% less water, use 93-95% less land and cause 87-90% fewer emissions!  This info is from UN environment assembly #SolveDifferent, Think Beyond/Live Within.

Can’t afford the “Impossible Burger”?  Try the suggestions of a 15 day plant based diet starting Dec. 1st on the 350Wenatchee website!  For 15 days we’ll  share the challenge from recent local Rotary presentation in our area.  350Wenatchee.org

ARE YOU AWARE OF THE BANKS COMPLICITY IN THE FUNDING OF FOSSIL FUEL EXTRACTION?  YOU NEED TO KNOW AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT!

Save the date | 3.21.23

Dis-credit Bad Banks Day of Action

The next big exclamation point in our work to defund climate chaos is coming this Spring—and we need you to join us, on March 21, 2023 – 3.21.23!

The Th!rd Act has spent much of the last year collecting Banking on our Future pledges from thousands and thousands of people across America: pledges to move our money out of the big, dirty fossil-fueled banks – Bank of America, Chase, Citibank, and Wells Fargo – if they don’t move their investments out of fossil fuels.

Are you a customer of any of these banks? Are you willing to ACTUALLY do something to help the planet? There’s plenty of time for you to make your plans to leave a bank that is funding fossil fuel extraction WITH YOUR MONEY!  Please make the pledge (blue linkand make your plans to leave the bank if they don’t stop ruining our planet! (Did you know that your Costco Credit Card is financed by Citibank? I have my scissors ready!!!) It would be excellent if you would talk to your bank and let them know your plans!
