Lawmakers in Washington State are gearing up for the 2022 session and are working towards a multi-billion dollar transportation package. The upcoming negotiations are missing something though – our communities and our voices.
Attend our upcoming trainings and learn more about what transportation means to our communities, our environment, and for the 25% of people in Washington who can’t or don’t drive a private vehicle. I’ll be joined by Front and Centered members in events tomorrow evening (Thursday) and next Friday, December 17 (in Spanish) to walk (and roll) us through a quick overview, take your questions, and offer upcoming opportunities to be involved in our advocacy efforts.
Together, our voices can ensure legislators make smart, accountable decisions that move us towards a Just Transition – a future where our communities are safe, healthy, and thriving. Otherwise, we’ll get outcomes driven by politics as usual, marked by non-stop expansion of highways and increasing pollution and asthma in the communities most impacted.
