Family,

Thank you for participating in the M4BL National Climate Impact Call!

We hope that you were informed by the frontlines and encouraged to join in support of a National Black Climate Agenda through the Movement for Black Lives’ Red Black and Green New Deal (RBGND) initiative. In case you missed it, or want a quick replay, you can view the recording on Facebook.

We are living in a time of unprecedented change and impacts within the Black Community.

An unrelenting pandemic, an unparalleled economic slowdown, political upheaval and an epic healthcare crisis are derailing Black Lives everywhere. All of these things are exacerbated by the undeniable fact that Climate Change is REAL and is disproportionately impacting Black Communities.

As RBGND National Organizing Lead, Valencia Gunder said on the call, “climate is a threat multiplier.” People on the frontlines of this fight are a testimony to our collective reality.

The impact of the climate crisis on Black and marginalized communities of color is no longer a fringe issue. As we heard from leaders on the call, climate action is our work. We are our own first responders. We are who we need to survive. We need bold and transformative climate solutions that center RACE and JUSTICE. This must be the engine that advances the Vision for Black Lives.

We invite you to stand with us in the fight to defend Black Lives. Join us as we advance a Black climate vision that we all need to survive the global climate crisis.

Are you a Black leaders and/or organization that wants to be a part of the Red Black & Green New Deal? Sign up to receive updates and calls to action.
